Really good dim sum for take out. Good value and tasty.
Good prices. Soft and plump shrimp and chive dumplings, bbq pork buns and soft and not too salty, pork dumplings wrapped in wonton skins are huge.
What happened to the Gourmet Dim Sum that we loved? It seems like there has been a recent change of ownership and chef… The menu and recipes have all changed. The steamed items are not what they used to be. Incredibly sad we’ll need to look for a new dim sum place. - - - Review two years ago: Our favorite takeout dim sum spot with a curated selection of the classics! Their shrimp dumplings (har gow) are THE best on Clement Street - thin translucent skin with abundant, real shrimp filling (not the pasty fillers that others use)! We like to get all the steamed items here (har gow, shumai, scallop and cilantro crystal skin dumplings, etc) and also the fried sesame balls and xian shui jiao (ham sui gok). Then if lines aren’t too long, we’ll round out the takeout feast with coconut sweet rice balls from Good Luck Dim Sum across the street, fried shrimp dumplings, luobosi bing (flaky radish cake), and steamed bbq bun from Xiao Long Bao a few doors down. The best of the best on Clement Street!
This is a standard dim sum take-out only restaurant. There weren't any fried donut rolls to go with the porridge so I decided to get dim sum only. I don't get how some dim sum restaurants offer porridge but not the fried donuts. Soy sauce chow mein could go well with porridge but, that was sold out. The redeeming quality is the size and taste of their pork dim sum, shrimp dim sum and turnip cake. The line might get long as there is only one person working.
Excellent bao! Super friendly staff ! Zero attitude and they are not pushy and rushing you like other bao places in Chinatown! Been there 4 times already and still loving it!
Delicious!! Not greasy, fresh, good flavor and thin skin. Limited amt.. made in small batches which helps keep it fresh. All good!! Nice counter person.. so efficient
The sesame ball is very good! Looks clean and tastes clean, I.e. the oil they use must be pretty fresh.
